Auditing & Monitoring
Overview of Auditing & Monitoring
We believe that a well-designed, objective audit program supports strong internal controls, reinforces regulatory compliance, enhances operational effectiveness, and promotes accountability across the organization.
As part of the Compliance & Risk Department, the Audit & Monitoring function partners with providers, administrators, and operational teams to review processes, identify areas of risk, and support adherence to Federal and State regulations, internal policies, and industry standards. Through independent review and collaboration, this work helps promote consistency, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Our team works closely with affiliated practices and leadership in pursuit of our primary responsibility – to provide independent oversight while supporting the practice’s commitment to compliance and effective operations.
To that extent, we:
- Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with regulatory and policy requirements
- Perform medical coding and documentation audits to support accurate and appropriate billing practices
- Identify control gaps and recommend practical process improvements
- Monitor and support corrective action plans to address audit findings
- Perform targeted audits based on risk areas, trends, or regulatory updates
- Support external audits and coordinate responses with third parties
- Analyze audit results to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk Management, and operational teams
- Evaluate internal controls across financial, operational, and clinical processes
- Promote compliance awareness through audit feedback and education
- Maintain audit documentation and reporting in line with organizational standards
