Thankful for Our Passionate Providers

During this month of gratitude, we’d like to take the time to recognize our incredible physicians and everything they do to support their patients. ReFocus is fortunate to have a diverse network of physician partners who excel in a wide range of specialties. These specialties, coupled with extensive years of experience, offer ReFocus patients the assurance that they are receiving treatment from physicians who they can rely on and trust.

We are thankful for all of our doctors and their contributions, and have chosen a few passionate providers to feature in this month’s blog.

 

Caroline N. DeBenedictis, M.D.

One of ReFocus’ newest physicians, Dr. Caroline N. DeBenedictis specializes in pediatric eye care and pediatric and adult strabismus. A board-certified ophthalmologist, she has training and surgical expertise in treating and managing pediatric cataracts, ocular trauma, and working with multiple specialists to manage pediatric ocular genetic conditions. She is also an extensively published author with articles in a variety of medical journals. Dr. DeBenedictis currently sees patients at our Waterbury, CT and Bloomfield, CT offices.

 

Michelle L. White, M.D.

Dr. Michelle L. White is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in anterior segment, cataracts, cornea transplant surgery, and laser vision correction. She received her medical degree and completed her ophthalmology residency training at Drexel University College of Medicine where she was Chief Resident. She also completed a research fellowship in cornea at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, as well as a clinical cornea fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. White has also published many papers in peer reviewed journals. Most notably, she authored the Treatment Guideline of HSV Keratitis for the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. White currently sees patients at our Waterbury, CT office.

 

Neil Kalbag, M.D.

A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Neil Kalbag has specialized training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery. He has conducted research, authored manuscripts, and earned several awards for his commitment to ophthalmic knowledge. In addition to providing general ophthalmology services, including comprehensive eye exams, Dr. Kalbag specializes in diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachments, and retinal and macular pathology. Dr. Kalbag currently sees patients in our Danbury, CT office.
